2011 World Series in Arlington, Texas

The Texas Rangers punched their return ticket to a second consecutive World Series by blowing-out the Detroit Tigers by a score of 15-5 in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series at Rangers Ballpark. The St. Louis Cardinals are the National League representative following their 12-6 win at Milwaukee in Game 6 of the N.L.C.S. on Sunday night. The World Series begins Wednesday in St Louis. Games 1 & 2 will be played at Busch Stadium before coming to Arlington for Games 3-5 at Rangers Ballpark.

Game 3 will be played in Arlington on Saturday, October 22nd (time 7:05CST), followed by Game 4 on Sunday, October 23rd. If necessary, Game 5 will be played Monday, October 24th.

Tickets for possible World Series games went on sale at Rangers Ballpark the first weekend of October and quickly sold out. But tickets are available through Stub Hub. For more information, click on "postseason tickets" after linking to www.texasrangers.com. The Web site shows the seating sections.

American League Championship merchandise is already on sale (available immediately after the big win Saturday night over the Tigers) at the Majestic Grand Slam Gift Show at Rangers Ballpark. Other local sporting goods stores such as Academy Sports & Outdoors and Dick's Sporting Goods opened extra hours to sell the latest A.L.C.S. Champions and World Series merchandise.
