Johnnie Highs/Babe’s ChickenThe development of a new Babe’s and renovated Johnnie High’s is on its way. The 8,000 square feet of space will be home to the local favorite home-style cooking restaurant. Opening is estimated to be in summer of 2010.At&t Cotton Bowl ClassicIn February 2008, the At&t Cotton Bowl Classic board voted unanimously to move the game from Fair Park – its home since the game's inception in 1937 – to the Cowboys' new stadium in Arlington. The first game at the new venue will be on New Year's Day, 2010.NBA All-Star GameOn February 14, 2010, the NBA All-Star Game will be hosted by the Dallas Mavericks, and potentially the largest crowd for a basketball game in the history of the world, with over 100,000 attendees. The event will b e broadcast in 215 countries in 40 different languages.2011Super Bowl XLVCowboys Stadium will be host to the February 6, 2011 Super Bowl XLV. Almost a quarter of a million people will descend on Arlington and North Texas for Super Bowl XLV, generating hundreds of millions of dollars for the local economy.2013Notre Dame and Arizona StateNotre Dame and Arizona State will play in the $1 billion home of the Dallas Cowboys in 2013. The Fighting Irish and Sun Devils will meet Oct. 5, 2013, and Notre Dame will be the home team for the game.2014NCAA Men's Final FourKnown as "March Madness", the NCAA's Men's Final Four basketball championship will be played in Arlington in 2014 in front of an estimated 93,00 people, shattering the previous Final Four record crowd of 64,959 in 1987 at the New Orleans Superdome. |
