Kristi Scales, Sideline Reporter for
The Dallas Cowboys Radio Network
“No one does it better than Kristi Scales on the Cowboys Radio Network. She’s usually miles ahead of the TV network types forced to eat her dust. Number 1 on the gold scale.”
Kristi Scales is the Sideline Reporter for The Dallas Cowboys Radio Network. She is entering her 17th season as a member of the Cowboys Radio crew. During game day broadcasts, she brings listeners exclusive up-to-the-second information from the Cowboy sideline. *Television co-host of “The Dallas Cowboys Postgame Show” and reporter for the team’s weekly television broadcast of “Cowboys Huddle”. *Host of the exclusive pregame “Owner’s Box” interview with Jerry Jones, live before every game on The Dallas Cowboys Radio Network. *Columnist and feature contributor for The Dallas Cowboys Weekly. *During a preseason game in 2002, Kristi became the first female to fill the role of ‘analyst’ in the booth for an NFL radio broadcast. She also worked preseason games as an analyst in 2003 and 2004 alongside play-by-play legends Brad Sham and Pat Summerall. *Kristi joined the Cowboys Radio broadcast crew in 1991 serving her first 8 seasons as booth producer before moving from the booth to the sidelines in 1999. She has produced 3 Super Bowl broadcasts as well as international American Bowl games in London, Toronto, Mexico City, and Monterrey. She was the sideline reporter for the 1999 American Bowl game played in Tokyo, Japan. *Winner of 3 Katie Awards from The Dallas Press Club, Kristi began her broadcasting career in 1989 at KVIL Radio in Dallas following her graduation from Texas A&M with a degree in speech communication. *A native Texan and life-long Cowboys fan, Kristi was born in Galveston but moved to Dallas at age 10. Her elementary and junior high campuses were two blocks away from the old Cowboys practice facility in the Lake Highlands neighborhood in North Dallas. * After soccer practice or volleyball practice, Kristi and her friends would walk to the practice facility and get autographs from Cowboys players such as Roger Staubach, Drew Pearson, Charlie Waters, Cliff Harris, and Tony Dorsett. Obviously her interest in sports...and the Cowboys in particular...began at an early age. |
