The Pursuit of Happy

Tailgating at AT&T Stadium

Every football fan knows that tailgating is half the fun. That’s especially true when you’re cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, the most storied franchise in football history.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of celebration before the game—the anticipation of victory hanging in the air, along with the delicious smell of burgers and dogs on the grill. Follow these rules and tips to ensure a fun and safe tailgating experience at AT&T Stadium.

Arrival and Parking

AT&T Stadium provides plenty of tailgating space. Since tailgating is only allowed in designated spots, you’ll probably want to leave the house early. You can arrive up to five hours before the game to grab a spot. You can continue the celebration for up to two hours after the game.

The spaces available for tailgating are located on the edge of lots 4,5,6,7,10,11,12,13,14, and 15. These spaces come with a grassy space behind your vehicle that is 9 feet wide and 12 feet long. Any grassy areas beyond that are shared spaces for picnicking and tailgating. Keep your party within the bounds to ensure fair play for everyone.

Rules and Regulations

Everybody knows Texas is the friendliest state in the union and we’d like to keep it that way! Be neighborly and adhere to these rules to make sure that you and your fellow fans have a fun and safe tailgating experience.

  • Parking spaces are for vehicles only. Please place all tents, grills, coolers and chairs in the grassy, tailgating area.
  • Be aware that deep fryers, any oil-based cooking device, and open flame grills are prohibited. So warm up the charcoal or gas grill instead.
  • Don’t get overly noisey, intoxicated, or rowdy. Keep your spirits high and your car stereos or other devices at a reasonable volume.
  • Keep it clean. Dispose of all trash, including coals and store stoves, in marked receptacles.
  • Safety is a top priority, so we ask that you can leave all weapons and fireworks back at home. Let the sparks fly on the field, not in the parking lot.
  • Advertising, soliciting, or picketing is not allowed in the stadium or parking areas. Feel free to share a cold one with your fellow fans but refrain from selling anything, including food and beverages.
  • Last but not least, follow any instructions given by any stadium personnel, including police, security, and parking lot officials.

Failure to follow these rules can result in being ejected from the stadium or banned from future events. Nobody wants to miss the game so be sure to observe all the necessary regulations.

Come Prepared

You can’t play the game if you don’t have the proper equipment. Gear up in your favorite jersey and wear that blue and silver with pride. You might also make a checklist of necessary items before kickoff. Don’t forget the storage containers and plastic bags, in addition to grilling equipment like charcoal, spatula, tongs, and skewers.

Everything is bigger in Texas and that includes the mosquitoes. Bring plenty of insect repellent and some sunscreen while you’re at it. Arlington weather has been known to occasionally change its mind, so you might also carry along some umbrellas or ponchos in case of rain.

A little extra meal preparation can save you a lot of time. Slice those onions and slap those burger patties together with all the seasoning the night before. Get your ketchup, mustard, buns, and all the toppings organized ahead of time.

More preparation means less stress and more time to grill, eat, drink, and celebrate America’s favorite team.

Have the Prep Done for You

If the DIY spirit moves you, simply reserve one of the tailgating spots, which includes a grassy area, and set up shop yourself. You can rent equipment like tents, tables, and chairs if you don’t want to invest in purchasing such items, or if you are only in town for the big game.

For deluxe tailgating, Stadium Parking works with partners to provide everything you need to enjoy the full tailgating experience without any of the work. Opt for a tailgate trailer, complete with a bathroom and big-screen TV, and the set up will be done for you.
