"Off the Beaten Path" in Arlington

Arlington’s notorious past and present provide visitors a unique opportunity to experience a different side of the Metroplex.  With a tour of the former Top O' Hill Terrace (now Arlington Baptist University), you will learn about this underground location that once housed one of the nation’s most popular gambling establishments. It used to be called "Vegas before Vegas!" Then mosey on over to Downtown Arlington, where the Arlington Music Hall, Theater Arlington and Levitt Pavilion offer live performances to suit any taste. Back in the Entertainment District, the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame will help you get a “triple” and makes a perfect addition to your tour. Any "Off the Beaten Path" trip in Arlington would not be complete without a visit to the UT Arlington Planetarium, talk about going to the moon and back! Step on guides are available to provide even more unique tales about Arlington’s past, present and future.

Artfully Arlington

Arlington is home to art from renowned artists across the globe. One of the most unique features of AT&T Stadium is its collection of museum quality contemporary art, which wonderfully enhances the iconic architecture of the building. The stadium art tour is a creative and educational opportunity for all ages. Then it’s onto the Arlington Museum of Art, where you can check out the latest exhibit from the masters. The University of Texas at Arlington Art Department rounds out your artful tour with exhibits from student artists including glass blowing.

Shopaholic Therapy

Need a little retail therapy to escape today's stress? With more than enough places to spend your hard-earned dollar on something worthwhile, Arlington can help.

Start off your day at The Parks in Arlington mall with stores like Last Call From Neiman Marcus, Coach and many more; it also has a carousel and an indoor ice skating rink. Just down the way on Interstate 20 is the Arlington Highlands –an open-air lifestyle center bustling with shops of all kinds, featuring world-class restaurants catering to all palates and price ranges. Then, venture only a couple minutes out of Arlington to visit the Grand Prairie Premium Outlets, housing outlet stores like Coach, Nike, Juicy Couture and many more; you will shop until you drop! Then, head back to the Arlington Entertainment District’s primary mode of shopping, the Lincoln Square Shopping Center to have a "foodie" experience and shop at stores like Gap and the Children’s Place. If we were you, we’d make sure we had enough room to take it all home with you. *wink*

Unique Shopping in Arlington

For those looking to accessorizestart off the day by visiting South Arlington's Gracie Lane, a collection of specialty shops and boutiques that have everything from fashionable clothes to furniture and accessories galore. Then, head to Sam Moon near the Parks at Arlington, for an oasis of glitzy glamorous purses, bracelets, earrings (there's a whole wall), necklaces, hats and shoes, we could go on forever, you have to see it.

For the sporty shopper

When it comes to shopping, we know our visitors enjoy shopping for clothes, nick-knacks and gadgets, but we also know one of the main reasons people visit our wonderful city is for sports. After all, Arlington is home to two professional teams, the NFL Dallas Cowboys and the MLB Texas Rangers. Shop for one-of-a-kind sports merchandise straight from the source at either the Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop inside AT&T Stadium or the Texas Rangers Grand Slam Pro Shop inside Globe Life Park. Here you'll find one-of-a-kind team fashions, including jerseys, you can't get anywhere else. The two major sports stadiums aren't the only places that carry special memorabilia, find more and even custom-made team loot at one of the following places; select specialty shops at The Parks at Arlington Mall, Gene Allen's Gifts, Rally House at Arlington Highlands, just to name a few.

The International Bowling Congress houses its International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame in Arlington. Shop the exclusive and rare merchandise including bowling balls, apparel and even the popular high-heeling bowling shoes.
