The holidays in Arlington are always merry and bright with fun things to do. And for those about to shop, we salute you! In addition to hitting The Parks at Arlington Mall and Arlington Highlands, check out these not-your-ordinary Arlington retail destinations where you’re sure to find the perfect gifts for everyone on your nice list—and more than few items you’ll want to keep for yourself:

One: Decorator’s Warehouse

Put on your comfy shoes and plan to stay a while at the legendary Decorator’s Warehouse (also known as the largest Christmas store in Texas), where you can browse hundreds of ornaments, wreaths, stockings, candles, Nativity sets, table runners, centerpieces, teddy bears and much, much more. After you’ve achieved shopping greatness, celebrate with a stop at the warehouse’s cozy Rose Garden Tea Room, famous for its homemade pies, quiches, and sandwiches. The pumpkin bread sandwich is not to be missed!

Two: Merry Marketplace at Six Flags Holiday in the Park

If you’re headed to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas, be sure and check out the Merry Marketplace, where you’ll find holiday-inspired apparel and other gift items, not to mention plenty of festive food and drink, live entertainment, and more.

Three: Gene Allen’s Gift Shop

An Arlington shopping tradition for more than 50 years, Gene Allen’s is sure have treasures for just about everyone on your list, including beautiful greeting cards, collectibles, fine chocolates, accessories, and Texas-themed home décor and gifts.

Four: The Market at Enchant Christmas

Make plans now to check out Enchant, Arlington’s newest holiday destination. In addition to strolling through the world's largest light maze and gliding around the magical ice-skating pond, it is a fine place to peruse interesting gifts. In the Christmas Market, you’ll find everything from amazing desserts, chocolates, crafts, toys and more.

Five: The Acorns Gift Shop at River Legacy

One of the most out-of-the-ordinary shopping destinations in Arlington just happens to be located in Arlington’s most beautiful outdoor destination, River Legacy Park. Stop by the Acorns Gift Shop to browse for critter-themed gifts that are sure to delight kids or anyone who loves nature, including toys, games, stuffed animals and puppets, jewelry, and collectibles.

Six: Truth Vinyl

If you’ve got a hard-to-impress hipster on your shopping list, you’ll be glad you dropped by Truth Vinyl. This groovy downtown destination spins a ginormous collection of new and vintage real-deal albums and sound systems on which to play them. Note: Leisurely listening is part of the experience at Truth Vinyl, so be sure to visit when you’ve got time to jam.

Seven: Gracie Lane

Gracie Lane is a must-try for anyone who’s crazy about boutique shopping or in the market for great gifts for her —and you’re likely to find at least a few gift options for guys and kids, too. Check out the shop’s Facebook page for upcoming holiday shopping events, like the Gracie Lane Tacky Christmas Sweater party on Dec. 14.

Eight: Spa Shopping

You just can’t go wrong with the gift of relaxation. Stop by Daireds Salon & Spa Pangea or Sanford House Inn & Spa to spoil someone with gift cards, accessories, hair and bath products and more. And go ahead and schedule an appointment for yourself while you’re at it! We won’t tell anyone.

Nine: Wondrous Works Gift Shop

This charming downtown shop is a fun place to browse for renewed vintage pieces, jewelry, hand-crafted wooden items, tableware and art. While you’re in the downtown area, be sure and grab a burger or brew or check out the Salvador Dali exhibit at the Arlington Museum of Art, which runs through January 21.

Ten: The Popcorn Store

The diverse flavor selection at this longtime Lincoln Square favorite makes it hard to choose just one, so you might as well load up with a car full of tasty tins from The Popcorn Store, a great place to grab teacher gifts, hostess gifts, or a yummy holiday treat for yourself. Selections range from savory (like Cajun, dill pickle and white cheddar) to sweet (such as banana, watermelon and buttery caramel) to classic butter and much more.

Eleven: Beef Jerky Outlet

Also located in Lincoln Square: You can stuff tons of stockings with the carnivorous treats to be had at the Beef Jerky Outlet, including jerky snacks in the prime rib, turkey, and sausage varieties, as well as jars of spicy sauces and marinades.  

Twelve: UTA Bookstore and Events

Thirteen: Rocket Fizz       

This one’s a great option for gift basket items, last minute gifts and gifts for kids. Located in one of Arlington’s newest dining destinations, Rocket Fizz sells hundreds of candies both classic and hard-to-find (we’re looking at you, Razzles!) , gourmet sodas, nostalgic tin signs, toys and more.
