The sun is shining! Summer is in high gear, and you want to share fun and food with friends and family. Levitt Pavilion - Both a great picnic spot and fun for the whole family, Levitt Pavilion has live music throughout the summer and draws food trucks and other vendors to their FREE concerts. But when the stage is dark, this grassy oasis in the heart of Downtown Arlington is a picture perfect spot to grab some food, spread out a blanket and enjoy the outdoors. You can also plop down across the street from Levitt near the DREAM Sculpture to get your Burning Man vibes right here in North Texas! Rush Creek Park - Have some puppies joining your party? Stop by The Original Chop House Burgers located on Little Road and then head up to Rush Creek Park. The linear park offers walking trails and picnic areas for the two legged friends in your party; then head to the Dog Park, which is located on the North side of the park, to find plenty of amenities for your four legged friends. Insider Tip: You can't go wrong with the Chop House Burger that includes a mix of brisket and ground beef. Make sure you ask Owner/Chef Kenny Mills about trying something new that is not on the menu yet! This veteran chef always has something new cookin'.

Hurtado BBQ - This food truck turned brick-and-mortar restaurant still provides a perfect outdoor eating experience. Hurtado BBQ, located in Urban Union, has a small indoor space and lots of outdoor picnic tables. You can grab The Texas Trinity, a hearty combo of brisket, pulled pork and sausage, then go enjoy some rays! Local Tip: Get here early! The lines are usually long, especially on the weekends, and they only smoke so much meat. When it's gone...it's gone!

River Legacy Park - With 1,300 acres that follow the curve of the Trinity River, this tree-covered haven offers miles of family fun! Stop and pick up takeout at your favorite restaurant, or try one of our favorites, and head to the park. With plenty of picnic areas, pavilions and a playground, no one will be looking at their screens while enjoying the experience. Insider Tip: Make a stop at the River Legacy Living Science Center. This educational nature center has permanent and traveling exhibits for "kids" of all ages.

Texas Rangers Golf Club - One of Arlington's newest restaurants, Home Plate, is located inside the new Texas Rangers Golf Clubhouse. It offers a full service restaurant, open to the public daily, with some of the best views in Arlington. Look out over the sweeping landscape of the golf course, River Legacy Park and beyond. With a large patio, fantastic food and Texas Rangers theming, you can't go wrong with this new gem, because it provides a natural escape in the heart of the city! Insider Tip: Home Plate is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, making it a great brunch spot if you are looking to stay outdoors and beat the summer heat!
