Who’s hungry? If you’re anything like me, the answer is ALWAYS, and so you will welcome three delicious words: DFW Restaurant Week…the annual celebration of North Texas wine and foodie greatness. This year, the 23rd annual RW offers the safety of both dine-in and take-out options, including three-course prix fixe dinners for either $39 or $49, and two-course lunches for just $19. Diners can get a free additional course with a FedEx Office | DFW Restaurant Week Fourth Course Certificate. And each meal purchased at Tarrant County restaurants offers a 10% donation back to the Lena Pope Home.
Arlington options abound AND you are supporting three amazing local businesses. What’s not to love? Here are some of my picks for DFW RESTAURANT WEEK in the World of Wonderful:
4000 Five Points Blvd – South Arlington
$49 (August 31-September 27).
Dinner is even more delightful with loads of cheese and chocolate. This four-course meal serves up something special with a romantic atmosphere, extensive wine list and decadent dipping options. If Quattro Formaggio, Wisconsin Cheddar and Spinach Artichoke don’t ring your bell, try a Charcuterie Board. The main course includes options like Premium Filet Mignon, Teriyaki-Marinated Sirloin, Herb-Crusted Chicken Breast, Shrimp, Atlantic Salmon and Wild Mushroom Sacchetti. For dessert, savor a white chocolate flavored fondue melted with sparkling wine and garnished with fresh strawberries and whipped topping.
2221 E. Lamar Blvd—Arlington Entertainment District
$49 (August 31-September 27)
This elegant steakhouse offers more than just high-end dining! My favorite part of the meal is always the panoramic view of the Arlington Entertainment District. Mercury is offering a variety of 3 course options, including a 6 oz. filet mignon, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Jambalaya Pasta and Oven Roasted Salmon. AND made to order Baked Lobster Mac & Cheese! For dessert, how about Bread Pudding or Italian Crème Cake?
506 N. Center Street—Downtown Arlington
$49 (September 2-12, Wednesday – Saturday)
In addition to first-class food, this downtown dining favorite offers a charming atmosphere and secluded garden vistas. RW options include Peppercorn Encrusted Beef Tenderloin, Ancho Chili Rubbed Atlantic Salmon and Meyer Lemon Braised Airline Chicken. And satisfy your sweet tooth with Cookies and Cream Cheesecake, Dark Chocolate Crème Brulee, or a Blood Orange Tart. After all that delicious food and wine, I’d suggest you make a night of it with a stay at The Sanford House.
So whether you prefer fine dining in a fancy restaurant or in the comfort of your own home in your PJs, RW serves up three amazing options for Arlington this year, and we encourage you to give them all a taste!
