Luminova Holidays is making their debut in Arlington, Texas! The brightest event of the year just opened and will be here through January 3. They say everything is bigger in Texas… and Luminova proved that right. Globe Life Field got a holiday makeover with 2.7 million lights, a 65-foot Christmas tree and a 10,000 square foot ice-skating rink.
The entrance is right in front of Texas Live! on the plaza. (You can’t miss the giant LUMINOVA letters.) There are tons of photo opps outside, from a giant glowing Texas Flag and 65-foot Christmas tree to the massive ice-skating rink. There’s plenty of room to snap photos, snack and skate all while staying socially distant from other families.
TIP: Enjoy the final weeks of Luminova and be our guest when you use promo code ACVB to save 15% on tickets. Or make a weekend of it! Snag your weekend vacation package to Luminova and Live! By Loews - Arlington.
Surrounding the rink, you can get your fill of food truck eats – including State Fair favorite Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs. I recommend The Jalapeno & Cheese Corny Dog for a little extra kick. On top of tasty treats, there’s several booths with kid-friendly and adult drinks from hot chocolate to gluehwein.
TIP: Make a day of it, and grab a meal at Texas Live! before you visit. You can walk (and skate) the calories away and finish up your trip with some hot chocolate or funnel cake.
When you head into Globe Life Field, you’re immediately met with larger-than-life reindeer, Christmas trees and even a cowboy boot. Up the escalator on the right is where everything really starts. The ballpark is filled with stunning light displays of gigantic snowmen, a Cinderella-style carriage, a tower of presents, glowing frames and swings – and that just scratches the surface. Every section is perfect for your next Instagram post or family holiday card.
Note: Staff were constantly sanitizing and wiping down handrails, swings and chairs. There are 6 foot markers on the floor, but Globe Life Field is so big social distancing is a breeze!
If you need a break from photos, there are interactive sections like pictured above. The glowing dots change color and light up when you step on them. It’s the perfect break for kids to get the wiggles out before they get to Santa. As if ice skating, a visit with Santa and the kid-friendly stops weren’t enough, there’s even a Luminova train you can ride inside!
Holiday Health
Luminova Holidays is putting your health and wellness first. They’re following government guidelines and implementing cleanliness protocols. Face coverings are required for anyone over the age of 10, sanitizing stations are set up throughout the event and occupancy is limited to ensure social distancing. Staff will be sanitizing high area touchpoints, and Luminova will be deep cleaned pre and post event daily. You can read their full guidelines on their website.
Make it a holiday getaway!
While you’re here, go ahead and make it a weekend full of holiday fun. Perfect for a family staycation or couple’s getaway, top your visit to Luminova with Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas. Take in the sights of the winter wonderland (and enjoy a cup or two of hot chocolate). You can’t get a better view of the dazzling lights than at the top of the Titan or Texas SkyScreamer.
BONUS: Finish up your holiday decorations and gift shopping with a trip to Decorator’s Warehouse. The family-owned business is the largest Christmas store in Texas and is a Pinterest board come to life. Stop by Campo Verde afterwards to refuel on some Tex-Mex. This restaurant is known for going all out for the holidays, so make sure you snap a few photos for your Christmas card! You haven't seen tinsel until you've been to Campo Verde...
