Spring is around the corner, and you know what that means….the annual Art on the Greene art festival is almost here! Last year’s festival was really fun! Aside from enjoying a beautiful day at the lovely Richard Greene Linear Park in the Arlington Entertainment District, you’ll experience panoramic views of a few of my favorites: AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Park, the lake, and the impressive (and massive) Caelum Moor statues. You can feel the energy of being right in the middle of it all! Stroll along the paths while appreciating the variety of art mediums from talented artists across the country. Plan to shop, eat and relax all in one place…great treasures await!

Here are some tips to make your visit to Art on the Greene even more fun:

Shop!

Think an arts festival is just a bunch of paintings? Think again. I found beautiful jewelry and unique pottery at last year’s event. I also purchased some great outdoor décor.

Eat!

After you have worked up an appetite from shopping, check out the food vendors offering a variety of delicious options! Gather some friends and plan to share so you can try them all.

Relax!

Plan your visit so you can enjoy live music near the entrance. I will be stopping by to hear the Journey and Foreigner tribute bands, two of the live acts that are scheduled for this year. Bring your blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the music while you eat.

Bring your fur babies!

It is a pet-friendly event, so bring your fur baby! When I wasn’t busy listening to music and looking at art last year, it made me smile to see all of the lovable pups enjoying a day out. If you plan to bring your pet, please be sure they are people-friendly and leashed (and clean up after them).

Best of all, admission and parking are both FREE. Check out www.artonthegreene.com for more information about this great event. I’ll look forward to seeing you at Art on the Greene, March 20-22. Just look for the lady that is showing off her two adorably happy Shih Tzu’s in brand-new costumes!
