About

Volunteer opportunities at River Legacy Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3), range from supporting education efforts, scheduled community events, and preserving the River Legacy Parks. Our key initiative is to educate the next generation of environmental stewards using the resources of River Legacy Park and River Legacy Nature Center. Starting with children as young as 3 years old, our environmental education programs expose children to the wonders of nature and their place in it. Through education, we preserve the Trinity River and its unique eco-system. River Legacy Foundation, a nonprofit 501 (c)(3), was formed as a unique public/private partnership with the City of Arlington Parks and Recreation Department in 1988.

Environmental Give Back Opportunities include:

  • Privet Patrol: Assist in removing invasive plant species from River Legacy Parks
  • Trail Cleanup: Pick up and dispose of trash and debris along Nature Center Trails. Tools and gloves are provided.
  • Trail Mulching: Assist in laying mulch along the Nature Center trails. Tools and gloves are provided.
