LGBTQ+ Travel in Arlington

Arlington, Texas is proud to be a welcoming, inclusive destination where everyone can feel at home. Whether you're here for a weekend getaway, a special event, or just exploring all our city has to offer, you'll find LGBTQ+ friendly spaces, events, and experiences that make you feel seen, celebrated, and connected.

Celebrate at Arlington Pride

Arlington Pride is one of the city’s signature annual events, and it’s completely free to attend! Held each year at the Levitt Pavilion in downtown Arlington, this vibrant outdoor festival brings together a diverse crowd to celebrate strength, equality, and self-determination. Enjoy live music, stage performances, local vendors, delicious food, and a joyful, welcoming atmosphere that captures the heart of the community.

Explore Art & Culture

Arlington’s cultural scene proudly supports and showcases LGBTQ+ voices. Theatre Arlington, located in the heart of downtown, regularly features inclusive and community-centered performances and the Arlington Museum of Art celebrates LGBTQ+ creativity with dedicated exhibits that highlight the talent and experiences of queer artists throughout the year.

Nightlife + Safe Spaces

1851 Club is Arlington’s only gay bar and a beloved gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Known for its high-energy drag shows, theme nights, and community vibe, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a night out.

Looking for something more low-key? Head to Fool’s Kava House, a queer-owned wellness café located in downtown Arlington. This cozy and inclusive space offers non-alcoholic kava drinks and is designed for sober socializing, meaningful conversations, and community connection.

In Dallas and Fort Worth

If you find yourself in Dallas or Fort Worth, we’ve got a few recommendations there too. Just down the stretch of I-30 East in Dallas, you’ll find the Oak Lawn neighborhood, one of the most gay-friendly neighborhoods in the country. Here you’ll find honky-tonk at The Roundup Saloon, plenty of space on the dance floor at Station 4 (S4) nightclub, and one of Oak Lawn's best known watering holes, JR's Bar & Grill.

You’ll also want to visit Hidden Door Bar, the longest-serving meeting place for the Dallas LGBTQ+ community. For more than 40 years, this bar has been opening their doors and slinging drinks. If you’re a beer drinker, you won’t want to miss the Sunday afternoon Beer Bust.

Head west toward the south side of Fort Worth where you will find several LGBTQ+ nightlife options, such as Club Reflection, a spacious bar offering cocktails & beer, plus a pool table, karaoke & dancing. If live music is more your style, stop by Club Changes.
