Relax and Refresh

Arlington Entertainment District

When you’re in Arlington, you will never be at a loss for things to do. The Arlington Entertainment District has all the must-see attractions and restaurants in one convenient area to make your trip that much more enjoyable.

Six Flags Over Texas

One Arlington attraction you cannot miss out on is Six Flags Over Texas. As the amusement park that kicked off the Six Flags franchise, Six Flags Over Texas offers more than 100 adrenaline-pumping rides for roller coaster connoisseurs of all kinds.

Take the plunge on Batman The Ride, where after a 10-story lift to the top of the world, you experience an immediate 360-degree loop. Next, get ready for an inverted roll and a second loop, and if that’s not enough, prepare to be plunged into 4 Gs of gravitational force.

The newest addition to the many rides at Six Flags Over Texas is Gotham City, a section of the park housing Batman’s villains. Head to Gotham City for Harley Quinn Spinsanity, where you’ll be spun and twisted from three different axis points while suspended up to 70 feet in the air. The Riddler Revenge, Catwoman Whip, and The Joker roller coaster round out the anti-hero rides.

Of course, there are rides just for little ones and shows the whole family can enjoy, too.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

If you prefer your thrills in the water—and you might need a cool off during the hot Texas summers—head over to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, conveniently located right across I-30 from Six Flags Over Texas.

If you are ready for “The Most Awesome Slide in the Universe,” you have to try the Black Hole. Standing 80 feet high, the twin coils plunge you into darkness where you lose all sense of time and space.

Want a competitive thrill? Gather five of your friends and head to the Wahoo Racer. The six-slide complex lets you race down the tubes on a mat in an attempt to be the first one out of the slides. Whether you race against someone you know or take on the challenge of beating a fellow park goer, the adrenaline rush is sure to be satisfying.

If you prefer to take it easy, the Lazy River is a great place to relax and soak up the sun. There are also fun rides and play areas for kids, like Splashwater Beach, a giant interactive water playground.

AT&T Stadium

A trip to Arlington wouldn’t be complete without watching “America’s Team” at AT&T Stadium. Seeing the Dallas Cowboys play is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This state-of-the-art stadium has the world’s largest HD video board where you can soak in every tackle and touchdown.

You can also take a tour of the stadium and get access to the most popular areas of AT&T Stadium like the field itself, the locker rooms of the Cowboys and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, as well as the Miller Lite Club and the postgame interview room. There’s even an Art Tour to take in all of the museum-quality artworks found within the massive stadium.

Globe Life Park

If baseball is your thing, you have to take a tour of Globe Life Park where the Texas Rangers play. As one of the most exciting stadium tours, you will get a complete behind-the-scenes look at several areas of the ballpark, including batting cages, press box, luxury suite, dugout, and much more.

Diehard fans should choose a Pregame Tour to take in the park right before a game and see the players warm up and do batting practice on the field. Plus, be sure to check the park’s event calendar for special events happening during and after select games.

Get Your Learn On

River Legacy Parks is an incredible outdoor oasis where you can not only enjoy the natural beauty of Arlington, but also learn about the park’s ecological diversity.

Home to a variety of birds, fish, mammals, and native plants, this 1,300-acre urban oasis also has countless activities, including hiking and biking trails, canoeing down the Trinity River, as well as custom playgrounds and playscapes for kids.

Just a mile away from Six Flags Over Texas, The Rock offers the best wood-fired pizza baked in custom-made ovens. Choose from a variety of specialty pizzas or try their gourmet burgers. Don’t forget to try one of their special microbrews or amazing “Rocktails” to round out your meal.
